How to get there

Driving: From the west – follow the A75 heading towards Dumfries. Bypass Newton Stewart and continue along the A75 passing the small village of Blackcraig. Shortly after Blackcraig look for brown tourist signs signed for Kirroughtree visitor centre. Turn off (left hand side) at Palnure following the brown signs.
Driving from the east – follow the A75 towards Newton Stewart. Once you have passed Creetown look out for brown tourist signs signed Kirroughtree visitor centre. Turn off (right hand side) at Palnure following the brown signs.

Public transport: The National Express passes Palnure on the A75 in both directions.  From Palnure it’s roughly a mile walk to the visitor centre.

Visitor centre, car park, waymarked forest trails, play park, toilets, mountain bike trails, orienteering, picnic benches.
